Sarah Lancman

Sarah Lancman: Vocals
Giovanni Mirabassi: Piano

“Sarah Lancman has the purity of Julie London and the depth of Shirley Horn. She is the hope and the jazz singer we have all been waiting for.” Wendy Oxenhorn,
Director Executive of the Jazz Foundation of the United States of America

A multi-talented musician, Sarah Lancman is a pianist and a composer. She is one of the finest singers to discover. She starts the piano at the age of 7 and began with a classical training then a jazz one at the Paris conservatory. She becomes passionate about musical arrangement and composition and is graduated from the Haute Ecole de Musique – Departement Jazz de Lausanne in piano Jazz and singing.

Since then, she took part in several famous Jazz Festivals and jazz scenes such as in Paris at the Sunset Jazz Club, Petit Journal Montparnasse, at the Jazz Festival in Monaco, in Switzerland: Chorus Jazz Club in Lausanne, Villars sur Ollon, Montreux, Verbier, Ascona , Burghausen, Luzern, in Bavaria in Burghausen, and also in Turkey at the Jazz Club les Ambassadeurs in Istanbul…

In January 2015, she released her first album “Dark”, produced by Blew Records Music Label and is well welcomed by critics, including that of Antoine Garance from Citizen Jazz Magazine: “Sarah Lancman is excellent in this intimate jazz atmosphere that envelops us like a sudden fog drilled by a sunbeam.”

The meeting with the pianist Giovanni Mirabassi (17 gold records, Victoires de la Musique, Django D’or, Grand Prix of the Académie du Jazz Django Reinhardt) is decisive. He immediately recognizes her as his “voice, that he sought: An extraordinary voice in the literally signification, not only talented but able to create emotions” and encouraged her to write a new album.

Today they are the accomplices of the album “Inspiring Love” with 10 original songs recorded in New York, the inspiring place of jazz music and will be released in October 2016, surrounded by a line up “all stars” (Alex Sipiagin, Gianluca Renzi, Gene Jackson).

Le Bang Bang

Stefanie Boltz: Vokal
Sven Faller: Kontrbas

“The First League.“
ELLE

“Stefanie Boltz and Sven Faller know how to create suspense and they succeed at keeping it up for a whole night. These are not just cover versions of jazz and pop by an extraordinary duo, their arrangements extract the pure essence of the composition. Boltz uses her voice like a sophisticated instrument, modulates precisely and sparsely yet with unlimited variations. The dialog with Faller’s booming bass lines, his soaring bow and psychedelically distorted sounds creates the special character of their music, the very unique sound of Le Bang Bang.” SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG

Le Bang Bang strip their song material of any unnecessary baggage, until it almost crackles between the notes. Armed with just a voice and a bass, Stefanie Boltz and Sven Faller have ventured into stepping onto any stage of any size for six years now. The result is a gripping balancing act in which every nuance matters and is able to make the whole thing turn into an unexpected direction. The stunned audience looks on as the two musicians feed each other lines out of the moment. Sometimes he might take a familiar song classic for one of Le Bang Bang’s imaginative original compositions.

Singer Stefanie Boltz and contrabassist Sven Faller pick up rock and pop songs and present them as sensitive or even swinging jazz numbers. In addition, there are also four self-compositions on "Headbang", the second album of the duo "Le Bang Bang".

A total of 16 tracks (total playing time 52 minutes), including hits from Yes, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, Oasis, but also hardrockers like AC/DC or Metallica, can be found on "Headbang". With just one voice and a variedly used double bass, the two German musicians master bravura songs, often performed by philharmonic orchestras. In spite of the musical minimalism, Boltz and Faller achieve an enormous range of expressive possibilities. Boltz scents, whispers, and sets new accents with well-known titles in her glass-like voice. Faller lets his bass mumble or complain when he strokes it with the bow. He also elicits spherical sounds from the instrument. Simply famos. The two musicians are particularly proud of this: "All you hear is voice, bass, hands and feet."
