RICHARD BONA

Born in Cameroon, Richard Bona had the advantage of having a family which has a musical background.

With his musical talent, Bona started making his own instruments when he was 5. He performed in many clubs and collaborated with many important jazz artists such as Manu Dibango, Salif Keita, Jacques Higelin and Didier Lockwood. In 1995, after moving to New York, Bona worked with Larry Coryell, Randy Becker, Mike Stern and Steve Gadd by whom his musical style is widely shaped. In 1998 Richard Bona started working as Music Director for Harry Belafonte's European tour and then in the same year his first solo album "Scenes of My Life" has been released. In 2002 he went on a world tour with Pat Metheny Group. Releasing his latest album "Tiki", he has worked with John Legend for "Please Don't Stop" and the song came up in the top of the lists for a long time.
