MARILYN MAZUR
Percussionist, pianist and compser Mazur firstly studied piano and ballet and in 1975 she formed a percussion group called "Six Winds".
In 1985 she has joined to Miles Davis orchestra. This is followed by various collaborations with Gil Evans, Wayne Shorter and Jan Garbarek. Mazur was an active member in the groups "Future Song" and "Percussion Paraside". Marilyn Mazur has been chosen for "percussion-talent deserving wider recognition" by Down Beat magazine in 1989, 1990 and 1995. In the mean time, in 2001 she was awarded for prestigious "Jazzpar" prize. By using various instruments such as bells and wooden drums, Marilyn Mazur impresses jazz lovers with her extraordinary performance. Mazur likes to tell different stories in her performances with various authentic instruments which she has collected from different countries visited.
