TERJE RYPDAL
Classically educated on piano, Rypdal self taught himself to play the guitar,and became a succesful multi-instrumentalist.
As Rypdal strenghtened his guitar skills by playing Clapton and Hendrix, he ended up creating his own style by mixing jazz, rock, classic and ambient tunes. Although Ketil Bjørnstad is widely known as a pianist, he is also famous for his compositions as an arranger as well as for his books and critics as a writer. Bjørnstad had his first project at the age of 16, collaborating in more than 50 albums, today he is known as one of the most prestigious jazz musicians in Europe. The duo's performance will be a unique experience; acoustic piano's pure, fluid and melodic world meeting with electric guitar's raw, rigid and uncompromised character.

Ketil Bjørnstad will not be able to attend the "Terje Rypdal-Ketil Bjørnstad" concert at Hagia Eirine Museum on October 16th at 8:30pm due to health complications. Instead, Norwegian musician Morten Huuse will accompany Terje Rypdal with the piano.
