Suzan Sabancı Dinçer
Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is the Chairman and Executive Board Member of Akbank since March 2008.
Ms. Sabancı Dinçer started her career in 1986 at the Treasury Department of BNP-AK-Dresdner Bank, a subsidiary of Sabancı Group. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer was appointed as the division head of the Akbank Treasury Department in 1989 and promoted to the Executive Vice President position in charge of Treasury in 1994. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer was designated as the Executive Board Member responsible for Asset Liability Management and Correspondent Relations to the Board of Directors in 1997 and as the Executive Board Member responsible for all matters concerning Akbank in 2000.
Appointed as Chairman of the Board in March 2008, Ms. Sabancı Dinçer led the initiative, in April 2009, to establish Akbank's International Advisory Board, a platform to discuss and evaluate global and local economic developments and their strategic implications for Turkey.
Suzan Sabancı Dinçer is a member of a number of organizations including: Citigroup's International Advisory Board, the National Bank of Kuwait's International Advisory Board, Blackstone's International Advisory Board, the Chatham House Panel of Senior Advisers, the Institute of International Finance Board of Directors and Emerging Markets Advisory Board, the Chairman of the Turkish-British Business Council of Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), the Global Relations Forum Board of Directors and the Forum Istanbul Honorary Advisory Board. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer also assumes the role of Luxembourg Honorary Consul and has been a WEF Young Global Leader since 2006.
Ms. Sabancı Dinçer also assumes various responsibilities in the social field: she is a Member of The Prince's Charities Council, the Board of Trustees of Sabancı University, both a Founding Member and Board Member at Endeavor Turkey, an Advisory Board Member at Akbank Sanat, a Board Member at the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts and a member of TÜSİAD (Turkish Industrialists' and Business Association).
Ms. Sabancı Dinçer holds a B.A. degree majoring in Finance and International Marketing from Richmond College in the UK. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer also pursued an MBA degree at Boston University in the U.S. Ms. Sabancı Dinçer is married with two children.
