HOW TO USE THE CATALOG SEARCH

To access the resources in the library you can use the catalog search in two ways: simple or advanced search. Typing the keywords in capitals, using "I" and "İ" letters in capitals to avoid problems relating to Turkish characters, or putting a "?" mark instead of these letters will make your search easier.

Simple Search

When you use simple search, select one of the search criteria (author, title, subject, etc.) before you begin. If you do not make a selection, the default will search in the "All fields" criterion. If, for example, the search is made by selecting "Author", all the works by that author will be displayed on the screen. To make a search according to the author name, you should first select "Author", then type the name and surname of the author in the inquiry box, making sure to use the order of "surname, name." Next, when you press the "Send" button, all the resources relating to the inquired subject will be displayed on the screen.

If you wish to get more information about a record found in the search results, just click on the record number on the left side of each record.

Advanced Search

Since advanced search enables a more extensive search, it is possible to make an inquiry using the author name and title at the same time. To view information about the resources, follow the same steps as when using simple search. The only difference of advanced search from simple search is that you can look up information using more than one criterion. The inquired publication can be displayed as short, standard, or detailed view, and the list can be arranged according to author name, title, or classification number.
