TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR NON-COMPETITION PARTICIPATION

The Non-Competition Participation Application is for participating in the festival regardless of the subject, length and category restrictions. In addition to Fiction and Documentary, the national and international applications under Animation and Experimental categories will be evaluated in this section.

The deadline for applying to the NATIONAL short film competition organized under the roof of the festival is November 20th, 2009. The DVD or mini DV copies of the films (both contest and non-competition) should be delivered to Akbank Art before the above date. The labels "For cultural use only" and "Without commercial value" should be added to the package from abroad, and the shipping fee should be pre-paid by the sender.

The results of the pre-evaluation will be announced in the official website of the festival.

  1. Non-competition applications are only for adding the film to the festival program to be shown.
  2. Only applications for the categories Animation, Experimental, Fiction and Documentary will be accepted.
  3. Works shot as 35 mm. and 16 mm. film or video; and films produced completely in computer medium can apply.
  4. Non-competition applications are open to international participation.
  5. There is no restriction concerning the length of the short films.
  6. The video tapes to be shown must be recorded in "PAL" system.
  7. Only the films made after June 2008 can enter the contest. Films participated in national or international contests before - except for Akbank Short Film Festival- can still apply for the contest.
  8. Non-competition applications are accepted from the festival's website only.
  9. The works sent to the festival can be shown in non-commercial Akbank Art activities and both the owner of the work and the director consent to this by sending the work to the festival.
  10. The decisions of the festival committee are irreversible.
  11. The films approved by the festival committee will be shown to the audience within the program that will be prepared for the festival.
  12. Regardless of the original format, a DVD copy of the film must be sent to the festival committee.
  13. The deadline for participation in the festival is November 20th, 2009. The applicants must send the below indicated material to Akbank Art by then:
    • Completely filled in and signed application form (or the signed print-out of the online form at www.akbankkisafilm.com)
    • 1 DVD copy of the film (with English subtitles)
    • Two images about the film for the festival booklet (in jpg format, minimum 720x576 pixels)
    • A CD containing all the information stated in the application form (as a Turkish-English MS Word document)
  14. The copies of the films that have passed the pre-evaluation are needed for projection and they must be prepared by the owner of the work in DV-AVI format and delivered to the festival committee.
  15. Films should include the complete English subtitles in order to be viewed in the international field. The films whose original language is English must be sent to the committee with their scripts.
