Akbank 6th Short Film Festival
In its sixth year, the Festival continues to be a platform for short film enthusiasts on which to share production and knowledge. As a result of selection of this year 20 fictionals and 10 documentaries has been selected to the National Competitive Section of Akbank 6th Short Film Festival. Throughout the first ten days of March, the Festival will be hosting 98 films from 24 different countries. In additon to film screenings workshops and colloquys will take a place at Akbank Art Center.
There is a new section of the Festival this year. The Akbank 6th International Short Film Festival is proud to present the new "Experiences" section which this year will feature "Patrice Carre" and his vast range of short film culture. By inviting leading films which have featured in film festivals worldwide we aim to present a broad selection of films in the "International Section". The "Documentary Cinema" section features Hasan Özgen whilst the "Short to Feature" section features Barış Pirhasan. Animation films from around the globe add to the colourful variety of the festival. The "Special Screening" section this year places Spanish short films under the spotlight. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to listen to the experiences of leading names in cinema through a series of interviews and workshops. Festivalgoers will be able to participate in an exciting competition in the "Festival Shorts" section which will determine the best films of the year. All screenings will take place at Akbank Sanat and will be free of charge.
