Within this category The Best Dramatic Short Film award went to "Derin (Deep)", produced and directed by Anıl Dinç and "The Best Documentary Film" award aent to "Duvar (The Wall)" by Emre Karadaş and Deniz Oğuzsoy. Honorable mansion awards in the dramatic short film category went to "Güven Bana (Trust me)" by Nazlı Elif Durlu, and "Rapunzel" by Tolga Karaçelik, and in the documentary category to "Dönüş (The Return)" by Soner Yıldırım-Mehtap Köseoğlu and "Bu Sahilde (On this Coast)" by Merve Kayan - Zeynep Dadak.
Akbank 6th Short Film Festival hosted new sections, workshop activities, and various colloquies with extensive attendance from Turkey and other countries with the motto "30 Second Interval" which took place between March 1st and 11th. 241 films had been submitted to the festival's competition category. A total of 90 national and international films were screened during the festival. 63 films competed in the festival's "Non-competition category", "International Films", "Animation shorts", "From Short to Long", and "Experiences" categories. A total of 30 films, 20 dramatic short films, and 10 documentary films were chosen to compete in the festival's national competition category.
The Best Short Films Announced!
Akbank 6th Short Film Festival's jury is composed of three different categories. Competition category - "Festival Shorts" voted by the jury-cinema writer Emine Yıldırım, producer Nadir Öperli and Akbank Short Film Festival's coordinator and director Selim Evci.
"The Best Dramatic Short Film" chosen by the jury-cinema writer Yeşim Tabak, director Özcan Alper, actress Özgü Namal, Sabancı University Associate Professor Hasan Bülent Kahraman and Akbank Art Center's Director Derya Bigalı. The Best Dramatic Short Film award went to "Derin (Deep)" produced and directed by Anıl Dinç.
"The Best Documentary Short Film" chosen by the jury of Marmara University's Fine Arts Department Professor Bülent Vardar, directors Savaş Güvezne and Mahmut Fazıl Coşkun, and documentary photographer Altan Bal and Akbank Art Center's Director Derya Bigalı. The Best Documentary Short Film award wen to "Duvar (The Wall)" by Emre Karadaş and Deniz Oğuzsoy.
A total prize of 7.000 TL was awarded to "Derin (Deep)", The Best Dramatic Short Film by Anıl Dinç and to "Duvar (The Wall)", The Best Documentary Film by Emre Karadaş and Deniz Oğuzsoy. Hosted by actress Ceyda Düvenci Akbank 6th Short Film Festival's award ceremony and closing party was held on Thursday, March 11 at Akbank Art Center. The attendees of the ceremony were the leading names of cinema. The festival's guest in the "From Short to Long" category Barış Pirhasan and "Documentary Films" category Hasan Özgen were presented a plaque of appreciation for Akbank 6th Short Film Festival.
French Director and TV programmer Patrice Carré attended to the award ceremony as the honor guest of the "Experiences" section, a new addition to this year's festival program. Following the award ceremony, "The Best Dramatic Short Film" and "The Best Documentary Film" screened to the guests.
