Rapunzel

Fiction / 18' / 16 mm / Colour / 2009

The girl is trapped in her room in a high rise block in preparation for the university entrance exam, the ÖSS. Instead of selling balloons in the street, the boy prefers to sit on a bench to watch the balloons fly up and away. One day, one of these balloons passes the window where the girl is studying. The girl peers out the window and so the story begins. A modern day version of Rapunzel, the film pays homage to the era of silent cinema, especially Chaplin.
