Hasan Özgen
He was born in Milas in 1947. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1968 and undertook flight training for a period of time. He cut all ties with the Air Force in 1972 due to "political reasons". He worked at the TRT News Centre between 1974 and 1982. He participated in the foundation of MTV A.Ş. alongside Suha Arın in 1983. He established his own agency in 1987.
His experience which began at TRT developed as he began to participate in the production of documentary films. He worked as a cameraman, visual director, script writer and director.
His interest in the art of writing began when he was in high school. His essays and poems were published in a variety of magazines. Recently, he has been writing about cities in an effort to narrate them.
He is a founding board member of ÇEKÜL (The Foundation for the Promotion and Protection of the Environment and Cultural Heritage), a member of Union of Historic Towns (TKB), a founding member of MİÇEV (Milas Cultural Foundation), a founding member of BSB (Association of Documentary Filmmakers), and a member of TGC (Association of Turkish Journalists).
He has taught "Documentary Cinema" at the Communications Departments of various universities. In addition to directing documentary films, he is also a consultant on "social projects" and "communications". He is a project director for B+ magazine.
