Wild Child Orchestra (Ages 6-9)
The spirit of jazz improvisation meets children at its wildest! Using soundpainting, a creative sign language for live composition, kids will form their own improvisational orchestra with sounds, rhythms, their bodies, and words. This workshop introduces the joy of collective creation and exhibits that mistakes are a vital part of creativity. Participants will even have the chance to step into the conductor’s role and lead the group; making for a fun and free experience full of laughter. Facilitated by Burcu Yılmaz, who specializes in soundpainting, with Orhan Deniz accompanying on clarinet, the workshop will take place on October 5 at Bağlarbaşı Cultural Center as part of the 35th Akbank Jazz Festival.
