With Akbank Sanat, Art is Everywhere
Akbank Sanat, which has been supporting the development of contemporary art in Türkiye and bringing international projects to life across different artistic disciplines, has been active since 1993. Now, Akbank Sanat is relocating its art center to host its events in a more comprehensive space. The new address of the center, following the architectural renovation process, will be Karaköy Yeni Han in Galata, owned by Akbank. The goal of this meticulous renovation process is to preserve the building’s historical and cultural heritage while creating a contemporary space that meets the needs of modern art. In this special location, Akbank Sanat will continue to meet with art enthusiasts.
During the process, Akbank Sanat will maintain its artistic activities without interruption at different venues, all under the motto “Art is Everywhere.”
Constructed in 1893, Karaköy Yeni Han hosted the commercial and financial institutions of its time for many years. It has served Akbank employees since 1964. Architect Han Tümertekin will undertake the building's transformation into the Akbank Sanat Center in the new period. Thus, Karaköy Yeni Han will continue its journey as a new hub for culture and art.
