An Applied Look at Game Design through Board Games

Time: 15:00-19:00

Board games, particularly those in the Euro Game format, have a unique following worldwide, especially in countries like Germany. These games are considered the starting point for game designers, with origins dating back to 5,000 BC. The workshop will be divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, participants will learn about the essential elements of board game design, including Movement, Action, Turn, Economy, Auction, and Worker Placement. In the practical part, participants will be encouraged to create their cards or board games using the knowledge they have acquired in the theoretical part. The workshop facilitator will provide all materials required for the production of games, but participants are welcome to bring their materials if they prefer.
