Akbank Sanat

Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Award

Akbank Sanat, a pioneer in the development of contemporary art in Turkey, has been honoured with the Special Award presented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. Akbank Sanat's multidisciplinary work, ranging from exhibitions to performance art, jazz concerts to film screenings, talks and seminars to workshops, contributed to this achievement.

In his statement on the subject, Akbank General Manager Kaan Gür shared the following: "At Akbank, we continue our activities under the umbrella of Akbank Sanat with the belief that culture and art are indispensable to social development. We consider it an important responsibility to pass on Turkey's cultural and artistic heritage from generation to generation. This special award, granted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, strengthens our belief in our country's creative potential and our determination to bring this potential to the world. We will continue to contribute to Turkey's cultural and artistic life with a perspective that extends from the local to the global."

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Awards have been presented annually since 1979 to honour those who contribute to Turkey's cultural heritage and art world. Akbank Sanat, which was awarded the 2025 Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Award, was established in 1993. The institution is known for its support for the development of contemporary art in Turkey and its international projects across various artistic disciplines.
