Alper Yılmaz Trio
Bass player, composer and arranger Alper Yılmaz, globally acclaimed for his first two albums, ‘Clashes’ and ‘Over the Clouds’, will take part in the festival with his brand new work. Yılmaz, who played with young generation jazz musicians like Mike McGinnis and Dan Weiss in Brooklyn for many years, is accompanied by two of Istanbul’s most prominent jazz musicians Ercüment Orkut and Volkan Öktem on his album, “Different City, Different Mood”, comprised of original compositions. The music of the band, largely shaped by Alper Yılmaz's, has a certain resemblance of Bad Plus, Esbjörn Svensson Trio and John Patitucci, often categorized as fusion and progressive jazz. Yilmaz offers an improvised musical experience, where each musician’s distinctive voice and interpretation can be heard. A must-see for contemporary jazz fans!
