Concert
Bilal

American singer, songwriter, musician and producer, a leading figure of neo-soul genre, Bilal Sayeed Oliver, aka “Bilal”, will be at the Babylon stage. The artist has released just three albums since his debut album in 2001, which gained him much acclaim, but has also created numerous albums, mostly pop and rap, for musicians and bands such as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Robert Glasper and The Roots as an important figure within the popular music industry. Bilal blends various genres and his latest album “A Love Surreal,” released in 2013, is inspired by the surrealist paintings of Salvador Dali. When he stated “I got a lot of concepts from Salvador Dali and the way he made his art pieces, it almost looks three-dimensional, and I wanted to do that with the sound of this album” we should add that the main theme of the album is “love's ephemeral nature.” This young artist brings his popular music persona to an artistic level and his works are widely acclaimed by the critics. No doubt he will create an upbeat as well as emotional concert atmosphere on the Babylon stage.
