With her impressive vocal, Birsen Tezer is considered as one of the most powerful jazz singers of the Turkish music scene. She has released two successful albums to date and collaborated with many celebrated musicians such as Erkan Oğur, Bülent Ortaçgil, İlhan Şeşen, Gürol Ağırbaş, Hüsnü Arkan and Ediz Hafızoğlu. Her latest project Eastern Standards aims to create a new language by combining hundreds of years old Turkish classical and folk songs with improvisation elements based on vocals and instruments from her previous projects and sounds of today. The songs from this Akbank Jazz Festival exclusive project will take the festival audience through a magical journey with Birsen Tezer’s unique storytelling.
