Blue Lab Beats
Blue Lab Beats is the jazztronica partnership of producer NK-OK and multi-instrumentalist Mr. DM. The duo has been a part of the well-established Blue Note Records family since 2020 and their production for Angelique Kidjo's track “Fired Up” on her Mother Nature (2021) album has won a Grammy Award. Blue Lab Beats shares the recipe of their music as follows: “Our influences include jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk, R&B and others. Mix it all up and out comes the sound of Blue Lab Beats!” The band's fourth album Blue Eclipse, described as their most ambitious work to date, was released in the spring of 2024. The 12-track album features duets with Kojey Radical, Amber Navran, Farah Audhali, Poppy Daniels, Farah Audhali and others. NK-OK and Mr DM will perform at Babylon on October 5, as part of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival.
