Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore
Founded in the early 1990s in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany to play doom ridden jazz music, Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore is one of the pioneering bands of the Dark Jazz movement, known for their shadowy instrumental compositions. Since 2015, the band has been producing as a trio consisting of Christoph Clöser, Robin Rodenberg, and Morten Gass. Their most recent album, Patchouli Blue, was released in 2020. If you ask the band, Patchouli Blue suits the golden mixing ratio of four parts “typical Bohren”, three parts “weird” and four parts “jazz sneak”. They also hint at a space for discovery, stating: “As a bonus there exists the shadow of a story behind the order of song titles, that you can make up yourself, depending on your temperament.” As part of the 35th Akbank Jazz Festival, Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore will perform at Borusan Music House on October 11 in collaboration with Borusan Sanat.
