As part of the "Akbank 42nd Contemporary Artists Prize Exhibition" titled "Futureproof: Evidence, Rehearsal, Resistance," artist Büşra Aydagün’s performance "Çaçala" will take place at Akbank Sanat on June 6th and 8th from 16:00 to 18:00.

What can we refer to while mapping out a future that we are heading towards and cannot stop, regardless of whether we are prepared for it or not?
In our century, where the future is rapidly approaching us and we only discuss the worries of tomorrow, while we are fighting to understand ourselves, we also ask the question: "Do we know the life we are living?" Should we join climate activists and throw soup on an empty stomach? Should we take to the streets? As we ponder these questions for days, our life path is being meticulously woven.
Wherever we are, the small electronic newspapers we hold in our hands provide us with news from everywhere. All the world's disasters are before our eyes. While we are trying to live, where is the thing that would make us happy on our life's path? Do we even remember who we are during the day, or do we wonder? Perhaps, before asking questions about "I," it would be good to ask, "Who were we?"
If I said the coffee in the disposable cup you drank this morning makes you forget your culture. When was the last time you thought of your mother? Or your grandfather? How was his life? What did he do to live? While thinking about the future, asking for help from the past seems easier. Who were you? What did you want to be? What did they give you? I don't know. But I came to offer you something you can give yourself.
Your clothes. What will they be good for? We will build our future path. Perhaps you would like to take off your shoes and step on a rug again. Perhaps you will feel yourself again.
In order to hope for a future that believes in zero waste instead of a future that believes in artificial intelligence. The path I started to weave with the technique closest to my essence.
Maybe you will also weave your path. All I need is a piece of fabric.
