Akbank Jazz Festival is pursuing its ‘’Jazz in the Room’’ concept initiated last year, which aims to transform the places of daily encounters into an intimate concert experience in a cozy home environment for the participants. Within the yearlong events to celebrate its 30th year, the festival is bringing its ‘’Jazz in the Room’’ series to Istanbul’s bookstores. The first of these special encounters between important local musicians and the audience will be in the city’s most charitable bookstore, Kitap Koala, accompanied by Deniz Taşar, giving a new impulse to jazz vocals in Turkey with her unique vocal style and timbre, and pianist Adem Gülşen.
