Chief Adjuah
Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (formerly known as Christian Scott) is a two-time Edison Award-winner, six-time Grammy Award nominee, and a Doris Duke Award in the Arts awardee. He is celebrated as a sonic architect, trumpeter, composer, producer, designer of innovative musical instruments and technologies. Since 2001, Adjuah has released thirteen critically acclaimed studio recordings, four live albums, and one greatest hits collection. He is widely recognized as the progenitor of the “Stretch Music”, a 21st century style defined by genre blindness and limitless fusion, which heralded NPR to hail him as “ushering in a new era of Jazz”. Chief Adjuah has collaborated with various artists, including Marcus Miller, Prince, Saul Williams, and Robert Glasper, and he will perform at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage on the evening of October 2, as part of the 35th Akbank Jazz Festival.
