Seminar: Projects on Republic & Art

In this seminar, the "art design" of the Republican ideology in Turkey and the debates of that period will be discussed. In addition, examples of those discussions will be given, and the ways in which the artists reflected that ideology, what methods they followed, and the reasons for the contradictions that emerged will be explained.
About Emre Zeytinoğlu
In 1980, he graduated from Mimar Sinan University Ceramic Department. Since 1986, his works were shown in numerous exhibitions. From 1988 published articles about art in different journals and multi-authored books. At Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Marmara University he lectures “Art, Theory and Criticism”, “Contamporary Art” and “Ideological Texts and Art”. He is making documentaries for various television channels. He undertakes curation duties for various institutions and private galleries. He made radio programs on art and football culture. Some of his documentaries about archeological settlements on different television channels, and some of them are still broadcast on Iz TV.
