Successful director Seren Yüce shares his filmmaking journey with festival followers.
Seren Yuce was born in Istanbul in 1975. He graduated from Bilkent University of Ankara, Archeology Department. Between 1999- 2005 he worked as 1st AD on television series. In 2006, he was the 1st AD in Ozer Kiziltan’s Takva/ A Man’s Fear of God and 1st AD in Fatih Akin’s The Edge of Heaven. He was the 1st AD for Yesim Ustaoglu in Pandora’s Box.
His first feature film Majority made its world premier and received Luigi de Laurentis Award for a Debut Film from Venice Film Festival and the best director, the best actor awards at Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival at its premier in Turkey, Golden Gateway Award for Best Film and Silver Gateway Award for Best Actor awards at 12th Mumbai International Film Festival, and Grand Jury Prize at 23rd Premiers Angers European First Film Festival. His second feature film Swaying Waterlily appeared as world premier in Montreal World Festival where it received the Best Script award.
