Deniz Erkan Sancak Dance Workshop

Hour: 14:00-17:00

Akbank Sanat Dance Atelier hosts choreographer and dancer Deniz Erkan Sancak, who continues his career in New York City.

In the two-day workshop, where movement is processed with rhythm, space and time, in essence aiming to intersect the imagination and bodies of the participants, the movement techniques in the instructor's literature will blend and meet with the participants. It is aimed to create a space where we will talk about and share the combinations.

About Deniz Erkan Sancak

Deniz Erkan Sancak started his career in Latin/Standard dances and soon became a member of the national team. With the scholarships he received, he continued his education at the Dance Conservatory Purchase College SUNY in New York. At the school, he studied techniques such as Cunningham, Graham, Limon, Counter, Gaga, Alexander, Plates, Contract improvisation, Composition and Classical ballet. During his training he performed as a soloist in cult postmodern works such as Martha Graham's "Appellation spring" & "Diversions of Angle", Merce Cunningham's "Interscape" & "Senerio", Anna Sokolow's "Dreams". He has also worked and performed with contemporary choreographers such as Jennele Figgins, Bettijane Sills, Ana Maria Lucacia, Eve Chan and many others.
