My Transformation Story (Ages 9-12)

In this workshop, children explore the concept of “transformation” inspired by Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis. They are invited to imagine: “If one day you turned into another living being, what would you become? How would it make you feel?”
Next, they examine macro photographs of insects and small creatures, observing details such as color, pattern, and form. These observations become the foundation for their own design ideas.
In the final stage, children create their imaginative insects using natural materials such as leaves, branches, and stones, and give them names. The workshop concludes with a sharing session where participants present their creations and reflect on the many meanings of “transformation.”
* The event will take place at the İzmit Municipality Toy Museum, incollaboration with İzmit Municipality.
