Akbank Sanat Dance Atelier hosts Turkish choreographer and dancer based in Finland between 6-9 June 2023.
Emrecan Tanış currently works as a dancer and a freelance choreographer with the Finnish National Ballet.
Previously he has been commissioned for creating pieces for different companies, such as
Stuttgart Ballet, Hannover Staatstheater, and Finnish National Ballet. Tanis has also created two short dance movies that screened both in Finland and Spain.
His choreographic language falls into the category of contemporary dance. Sharp, precise gestures are contrasted big fluid movement, as well as floor work.
His teaching is influenced by Gaga and Forsyth improvisation and Ultima Vez -style.
During the workshop the participants will be led to Focus on dropping the weight and playing with gravity, engaging the core and letting the energy flow freely through the whole body.
