İzmit in My Sketchbook (Ages 6-9)

In this workshop, children are introduced to Cubism’s geometric way of thinking and its approach to understanding space from multiple perspectives. Through hands-on activities focused on creating surfaces with geometric shapes and building compositions, participants experience a cubic mode of perception.
İzmit’s seafront, Clock Tower, railway station, industrial buildings, and streets are observed and interpreted through a cubist lens. During the practical phase, printmaking techniques are used to transform İzmit landscapes into unique works of art.
The workshop aims to develop children’s spatial awareness and creative expression skills, encouraging them to rediscover the city they live in through art.
* The event will take place at the İzmit Municipality Toy Museum, in collaboration with İzmit Municipality.
