Evrim Demirel is considered as one of the most talented representatives of today’s jazz and classical music scene. Being both a musician and a composer, Demirel has been very productive for the last ten years. In his works bearing influences from jazz, Turkish and Ottoman music he establishes a rich and strong improvised melodic structures. Besides his own projects, he has done numerous compositions for many European artists. Demirel who came second at Holland’s “Young Composers” competition with his “Osmanlı Minyatürleri” album, still continuing to be an instructor in Istanbul.
