In this panel discussion, held under the moderation of Hakan Rauf Tüfekçi, in memory of Sevinç Tevs, the first-ever international star of Turkish jazz, her daughter, Şehrazat, also a composer and singer-song writer, will be the guest. She will tell, from her own prespective, the colorful and vibrant life story, the musical career and friends of her mother, who was the very first jazz vocal in Turkey, and who was honored as the “Mother of Turkish Jazz”.
In this interactive presentation, you will learn about her victory in the 1948 jazz vocal competition, her interest in Turkish Art Music and other unknown facts about this super voice and super interpreter, while listening to some of her old recordings.
