fugamundi x Elif Dikeç Jazz Listening Club: Cosmic Sounds - From Krautrock to Jazz
Moderator: Doğukan Şayan
Guest: Elif Dikeç
The Jazz Listening Club is a gathering series that transforms music listening into a practice of sharing and contemplation. In this session, with Elif Dikeç, we set our course for 1970s Germany, to that "cosmic" era where music was reinvented in laboratories: Those moments where the sound spilled over the borders of traditional jazz, where the cold timbres of electronics merged with free improvisation, and where the industrial atmosphere transformed into a brand new sound universe…
The event consists of two parts:
In the first part, we will listen to tracks selected by Elif Dikeç revolving around the theme. Under the moderation of Doğukan Şayan, we will discuss the stories and atmospheres of these pieces, tracing the years the artist spent in Germany and her musical roots there. In the second part, we will listen to music selected from suggestions made by the participants, opening the conversation to a collective sharing experience.
We look forward to meeting you for an intimate and participatory evening that focuses on what music makes us feel and the stories it tells, rather than a technical musical analysis.
