Sanpapié Dance Company (Italy) in collaboration with Improvisation Dance Festival (Istanbul) within the international project “Go Towards” (awarded by the Italian Ministry of Culture through the Boarding Pass Plus fund) is looking for 9 performers including 6 dancers and 3 musicians, aged between 16 and 45 years of any gender to build a mixed Italian-Turkish group that will work on a new site-specific contemporary dance creation to be presented in Istanbul on the 9th and 10th September 2023.

Selected applicants, also in relation to the number of requests we will receive, will be contacted by email by the beginning of August to confirm participation in the audition.
Two places will be reserved for AUDITORS who wish to follow and accompany the work process externally and collaborate in creating a "logbook" of the project.
The choreographic research, in close connection with the dramaturgical and musical elaboration, will explore the diversity inherent in the group of performers from common stimuli, themes and symbologies related to: individual perception, physical and emotional reactions, memory, imagery, creative production. The composition will be the result of a constant recombination of elements, in search of a shifting, ever-defining boundary.

DANCERS REQUIREMENTS:
- Good training in classical and contemporary dance techniques including floorwork and contact improvisation
- Skills in other physical practices such as acrobatics, break-dance, hip-hop, circus arts, folk and traditional dances
- Ability to improvise and create
- Aptitude for group work and memorization of shared choreographic material
- Aptitude for theatricality and use of voice
- Availability for the whole period (from 24th August to 10th September - days off 27/08 and 3/09).
MUSICIANS REQUIREMENTS:
- Use of one or more instruments that can be played outdoors and possibly in motion to accompany the itinerary of the dance action
- Aptitude for improvisational and creative studio work with dancers
- Aptitude for group work
- Aptitude for movement and theatricality
- Availability for the whole period (from 24th August to 10th September - days off 27/08 and 3/09).
