The Sun’s Trace: A Cyanotype Workshop for Children and Parents (Ages 8-12)

In this workshop, children and their parents will observe together the forms, vein structures, textures of leaves, and how they differ from one another while discovering the cyanotype technique using plants gathered from nature. By experiencing the trace left by the sun on the surface, they will create their own prints, followed by a short sharing session based on the "leaf gifts" they chose for each other, beginning with the sentence: "I chose this leaf for you because..."
Bringing together art, observation, and a magical photographic process, this workshop invites children and families to look more closely at their environment, discover creative ways of leaving traces with light, and experience the possibilities of creating together while holding space for one another.
* The light-sensitive surfaces used by children in the workshop will be prepared by the instructor.
* The event will take place at Turhan Selçuk Kültür Evi, in collaboration with İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
