Talk: “On the Borderline of Pleasure and Pain: Dopamine”

Prepared and Presented by: Cengiz Arca & Ezgi Emel

Time: 18.30 - 20.00

While the modern world traps us in a perpetual "pleasure loop," it also severs our connection with pain. Starting from the paradox in Anna Lembke’s Dopamine Nation, we discuss why the instant gratification we seek in every notification, purchase, and scroll eventually turns into a massive burnout. We explore the body that becomes numb while escaping pain and, through Gilles Deleuze’s perspective, the authentic power of pain that amplifies pleasure and brings the body back into contact with the mind.
