"Location: Galatasaray High School"

Moderator: Cem Sorguç

Guest: İzzeddin Çalışlar

An educational institution with a history dating back to the late 15th century when it was referred to as a palace school in records related to Istanbul, and later renamed as Galatasaray High School in 1923, the school has, over the years, given its name to the neighborhood where it is located. In 1868, as a result of the close relationship Sultan Abdülaziz had with the Emperor of France, Napoleon III, it was designed as a secondary education institution with the most advanced European standards, known as Mekteb-i Sultani (Lycée Impérial Ottoman also known as Galata Serai). It embarked on a journey that started in 1481 and has been one of Turkey's oldest educational institutions for over 500 years.
