İpek Göztepe - Betty Carter Songbook
İstanbul-born musician İpek Göztepe has made a name for herself in recent years with her wins at the Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition and the Young Jazz competition organized by the Istanbul Jazz Festival. She completed her jazz vocal education in Graz, Austria, in 2024 and received the “Outstanding Performance” award at the traditional Student Music Awards (SMA) presented by Downbeat, one of the most prestigious jazz publications in the world. İpek Göztepe will explore the world of Betty Carter, one of her biggest inspirations, at her 34th Akbank Jazz Festival performance. She will be accompanied by Kaan Karadavut on trumpet, Barış Ertürk on saxophone, Selen Gülün on piano, Anıl Deniz on double bass and Simon Shiriaev on drums. The concert will feature Carter’s original compositions as well as standards from her iconic albums such as Inside Betty Carter and The Modern Sound of Betty Carter.
