Akbank, a big supporter of jazz music for the past 23 years decided to start a youth orchestra with the coorparation of Bahçeşehir University which is the only instution in Turkey that provides a jazz education. In this very exciting project , one of Turkey’s most talented pianist-composer Baki Duyarlar will be taking the lead. The band aims to expose and expand structures of Turkish jazz, as they create new opportunities for the next generation jazz musicians and composers. İstanbul Youth Jazz Orchestra consists of 17 musicians ranging from the ages of 19 to 25 years of age.You can witness the orchestra’s first ever performance on October 10th at Bahçeşehir University.
