Jazz-hop Junction invites you on a journey from the common roots of jazz and hip-hop to the present. On this journey we will trace the interaction between two genres with our captain the master beatmaker, producer, and MC Da Poet – one of the most prolific figures of the local hip-hop scene. During the workshop, Da Poet will share his beat-making process which is inspired by jazz albums. It will be held at Kolektif House Moda Köşkü in collaboration with HOOD Base. Please note that only a limited number of seats will be available.
Since 2005, Da Poet has been recording and performing with the hip-hop collective 90BPM and the trip-hop duo Rain Lab in addition to his personal projects. He also composes music for documentaries, films, and TV series. He won the SİYAD Best Music Award with the soundtrack for the 2020 movie Bir Nefes Daha. With his own label Nuhado Records, he releases his albums and supports alternative voices from the independent music scene. The event will be held in Turkish.
