Four young musicians who won the Akbank Jazz Festival Award at the 20th Nardis Young Jazz Musician Competition will take the stage on September 28 at Yeldeğirmeni Art Center. Born in 2006, Asude Şaşmaz continues her trumpet studies under the guidance of Şenova Ülker. Fascinated by composition since childhood, her musical identity has been shaped by the improvisational and liberating spirit of jazz. In addition to music, she also creates visual art. Born in İzmir in 2001, Egemen Tosunbaş began his musical journey at the age of nine with the violin. After discovering music theory and jazz/fusion, he performed as a guitarist with the Boğaziçi Jazz Orchestra and Boğaziçi Jazz Ensemble. He received a scholarship to the BAU Jazz Certificate Program, where he founded the Eggmann Quartet and, as guitarist of the BÜMK Orchestra, won the İKSV Young Jazz+23 competition. He continues to perform at clubs and festivals. Born in İskenderun, Hatay in 2002, Teoman Karalar performed as a tenor and bass vocalist in over 20 concerts and festivals during high school with ensembles such as Ambrossia Acapella, the Manisa Polyphonic Youth Choir, and the Manisa Fine Arts High School Choir. In the following years, he collaborated with Koro İstanbul as a bass section leader and vocalist. He is currently studying jazz vocals with Yeşim Pekiner. In 2024, Özgü Dündar was accepted to Berklee College of Music. She has performed as a vocalist and pianist in bands including Longplay, Euphonia, and Babas, and has sung with the Çukurova Symphony Youth and Children's Choir and the Adana BİLSEM Choir. Dündar continues to work on creative projects with musicians and producers from different countries while pursuing her studies at BAU Conservatory.
