Kinga Głyk
“Kinga’s musical ability helped her enroll on a permanent basis in the history of Polish jazz.” These are the words of world-renowned jazz pianist and master of improvisation Adam Makowicz, describing bassist Kinga Głyk. Since releasing her debut Rejestracja in 2015 at the age of 18, Głyk has performed across the globe. In 2020, she was honored with the Grand Prize in the “New Hope of Polish Jazz Melomani 2019” category by the prestigious Koryfeusz of Polish Music. Her fifth and most recent album, Real Life, co-produced by Snarky Puppy’s Michael League, features an impressive lineup of musicians, including Robert “Sput” Searight, Casey Benjamin, Brett Williams, Nicholas Semrad. Recognized as one of the most compelling new talents in European jazz, Kinga Głyk will perform at Frankhan on October 10 as a guest of the 35th Akbank Jazz Festival.
