Short to Feature - Vuslat Saraçoğlu

Short to Feature section, where we host successful directors whose cinematic journey started with short films and continued with feature films, will feature director Vuslat Saraçoğlu this year.

Saraçoğlu will share her experiences about her cinematic journey with screenings of her first feature film Debt, which won the Best Film award at the 37th International Istanbul Film Festival, and her short documentary Children of Müslüm Baba.

About Vuslat Saraçoğlu

After completing her education at İzmir Bornova Anadolu High School, Vuslat Saraçoğlu graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University with a degree in Sociology and International Relations. In 2008, she conducted research on music sociology at the Department of Modern Turkish History at Boğaziçi University. In 2013, she directed the documentary Children of Müslüm Baba. She also participated as an actor and production coordinator in the feature film Why Can’t I Be Tarkovsky. Her first feature film Debt has been screened and competed at many international festivals, while in Turkey it won several awards, including the Golden Tulip Best Film award at the 37th Istanbul Film Festival. Her second feature film Not What You Think won multiple awards at the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival, including Best Editing, Best Screenplay, Jury Special Award, and Best Actor.
