Puppet and Story Circle (Ages 8-12)
Workshop Facilitators: Şirin Keskin – Ceyda Akel
Time: 12:00 - 13:30
Facilitated by Kumbaracı50 and Owia Ponte – Art Community, this workshop invites children to design their own puppets using recycled materials while experiencing the excitement of building a story together with them.
The Puppet and Story Circle encourages children both to expand their individual modes of expression and to create collectively within a group. Throughout the workshop, each child assigns new meanings to the materials at hand to create a character; these characters then come together to become part of a collective story. In this process, objects considered as “waste” are reshaped through imagination, allowing children to form new connections between nature, creativity, and collaboration.
