"Curating Contemporary Art" Seminar Program
Seminar: Different Methods in Curatorship and Exhibition Practices

This session will address different curatorial methods and working practices. During the process of exhibition making, possible collaborations between the curator and artists, the relationship between concept and artist, and the curator’s processes of research and evaluation will be discussed. The position of the curator within an organization will also be examined.
About Emre Zeytinoğlu
Emre Zeytinoğlu (1955, Istanbul) graduated from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (now Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University) in 1980. Since 1986, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in national and international organizations. Since 1988, he has published articles on art and aesthetics in various journals and art platforms. He has curated exhibitions organized by private galleries and art institutions. He previously taught “Art, Theory and Criticism”, “Contemporary Art”, and “Ideological Texts and Art” at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He currently teaches “Concepts of Aesthetics and Art”, “Object and Transformation”, “Art, Theory and Criticism”, and “Interpretation of Contemporary Art” at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University. He previously produced radio programs on art at Açık Radyo and on football culture at Yaşam Radyo. He has also produced documentaries on archaeological sites for various television channels.
