"Curating Contemporary Art" Seminar Program

Seminar: Inside a Global Gallery: How Lisson Shapes Artistic Narratives Across Markets

Speaker: Rüya Worthy

Time: 6:00-7:30 pm

This talk will offer an insider perspective on how one of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries operates across its international locations. Through an exploration of Lisson Gallery’s founding history, core working principles, and selected exhibition case studies, the session will reveal how a global gallery develops artists’ careers, shapes curatorial narratives, and engages with institutions and collectors.

Lisson Gallery is one of the most influential contemporary art galleries in the world. Founded in London in 1967 by Nicholas Logsdail, the gallery has been instrumental in championing Minimalism and Conceptual Art and in shaping the careers of several generations of artists. Today, Lisson represents more than sixty international artists and estates and operates across London, New York, Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul. The gallery presents museum-quality exhibitions, supports ambitious institutional projects and maintains a strong presence at leading art fairs worldwide. Lisson remains committed to fostering long-term artistic development and to advancing global conversations around contemporary art.
