Meriç Dönük

Harpist Meriç Dönük began her harp education in her hometown, Mersin. She continued her studies with her teacher, Şirin Pancaroğlu, in Istanbul in 2003 and completed her bachelor's degree in 2008. In 2011, she released an album titled Elişi, featuring folk songs performed on the harp with Pancaroğlu. Her first solo album, Mahfuz, which includes various examples of traditional Turkish music and original compositions for harp, followed in 2016. In 2022, she released MusicAlly, a collaboration with violinist Ertuğrul Erhan. Meriç Dönük approaches music as a reflection of the harmony of the life cycle rather than dividing it into genres. She continues to explore the unique possibilities of her instrument and create music based on this concept. Meriç Dönük will perform at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum during the opening weekend of the 34th Akbank Jazz Festival.
