Considering the acoustic issue in architectural design is inevitable to ensure user comfort. In addition to preventing the spaces from being affected by noise originated by indoor and outdoor, ensuring good listening conditions, especially in certain spaces, should be emphasized during the architectural design phase. This requirement is a result of the functional need of the spaces. Architectural acoustic design provides the appropriate sound environment in the built environment. In addition to general acoustic knowledge, the place of architectural acoustics in design, which has a wide range of work areas from building scale to space and even product scale, will be conveyed in the seminar.
About Ezgi Türk Gürkan
She graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2008, and completed her master's degree in Building Physics Master's Program of the same university in 2011. She completed her studies on architectural acoustics in Yıldız Technical University Building Physics Doctorate Program and received her doctor of philosophy in 2022. She works on architectural acoustic consultancy and project design at Pro-Plan Proje Mühendislik San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. since 2012. She has been actively involved in various projects including acoustic test rooms, hotels, offices, listening rooms, cultural centers etc. on room acoustics, noise control and sound masking systems. She has advanced knowledge of digital acoustic modelling. She provides beginner level training ODEON room acoustics software.
