Paolo Fresu - Omar Sosa Duo
The trumpet player, Paolo Fresu, and jazz pianist, Omar Sosa, released their duo album “Lara” in 2012, which sharply increased their popularity in Europe. 4 years later, the duo has now released their new album “Eros”, continuing to combine the old and the new sounds of Italy and Cuba. Three time Grammy nominee, Cuban songwriter and pianist Omar Sosa is a name to conjure within today’s Latin jazz scene. The Afro-Cuban influence on his music comes from his journeys in Africa. Omar Sosa has released over 25 albums, and took part in various projects ranging from massive Latin orchestras to solo piano, world music, free jazz, and avant-garde. The other member of the duo, Paolo Fresu, is an absolute talent, having played on about 300 albums, composing songs for theatre and movie productions as well. With many awards to his name on an international level, he has taken the stage with the most important Afro-American musicians of the last three decades.
