Monomania is a series of constantly recurring thoughts that take over the individual's mind. Art subjects the theme of monomania by dramatizing the characters' obsessive pursuits and dark passions. These themes allow the viewer to recognize similar motives in his own mental world and help him discover some hidden aspects of the human soul. Monomania is reshaped under the magnifying glass of art as both a weakness and a source of strength.
In this talk, we will combine the creative power of art with the deep analyzes of psychology and track the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that carry the traces of the past to the future through the theme of "monomania".
