Sarp Maden is one of our artists who has forged a unique style with his guitar tone and technique, a self-educated musician, and he will meet with the festival audience with his solo project. Maden began to play guitar at the age of fifteen, he attended the Music Department at Bilkent University after graduating from Psychology Department at Boğaziçi University. He has performed and recorded with many musicians from old and new generations during his music career of more than 30 years, including Ali Perret, Erkan Oğur, Volkan Öktem, Alp Ersönmez, and Genco Arı. His albums reveal that jazz is about intellectual depth as well as emotions. Maden plays on words when naming his songs and bands such as “Trio Mrio, Quartet Muartet, Soyut Boyut” and enjoys sharing his sense of sophisticated humor with his audience, coloring his elegant presence on stage and the calm air of his improvisations.
